Caught on google street view

There’s certainly more than one way to make it onto google these days. Most people post a video on YouTube, fill the web with blog posts, or establish themselves on numerous social networking sites, but my friends there is another way! Timing is key, and they say the early bird catches the worm, last May it was the Google Street View car that caught me on my merry way to the office. I had been all but forgotten that the car had passed me one morning and I’m glad to see that they only managed to blur a couple of shots of my face. There still one or two angles that clearly reveal my mug. Still I think Google Street View is great, I never knew what my stride looked like before today. People always said that I walk quickly and now I see why, it looks like I’m running even though I can say hand on heart that I was definitely working that day.

I’m almost certain that the Google car got me on another occasion so if anyone finds it give me a shout. I may well have been on the bike at the time though me thinks.

In addition to the ‘Recently Unveiled Portfolio‘ slides, there are now two further sections of the portfolio specifically dedicated to websites and print design works respectively. Using the Print portfolio you’ll be able to scroll through a range of material from flyers to small and large brochures with the option to download PDFs to see the full compliment of material. The website section of the profolio displays a range of websites produced in last one to two years.

What’s all the Google Buzz about?

This week there’s been a lot of fuss about google buzz and whether, a) It’s been tested sufficiently and b) Is there actually any need for another social networking site. Of course there’s a lot more to it than this, like the advantages of a single sign in to connect with all your groups of friends over Twitter, blog posts, and potentially Facebook at a future date. For a lot of busy folk that just don’t have the time to individually update their tweets, post to their blogs, google buzz does on the face of it have a lot to offer. So long as you already have you regular group of friends you want to connect with, google buzz will be quick to set up. As with any new social networking medium there are already people with concerns over privacy issues, because of the nature of updates coming straight into your inbox. Only time will tell if google will yet add buzz to their successive list of web apps. Post us your views on how you’ve got on with the new buzz and any issues you percieve.

The MODx Revolution

I’m waiting with bated breath, as I’m sure many others are for the launch of the full candidate of MODx Revolution. Judging by the beta, the full release looks like it will prove to be a quick, solid, open source platform on which to build robust Content Management Systems (CMS) that fit any number of client website requirements. I’ll be sure to let you know when the full candidate is released and look forward to building my next CMS on the platform!

New MS21 website launched!

Following a little procrastination on what projects to put in the portfolio the new website is now here. At the moment the portfolio is lacking web and print design material, but will be added when I get the chance!

Having built the new website on the WordPress blog platform means I can use the handy little iPhone app to post the odd rant or useful web snippet to pass the time on my daily commute.
